During the Texas Revolution, we gained Texas. We also gained Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, California and Utah. This area gave us alot more land to farm on and more places for people to live. Because the land was a place for people to live, this allowed the population to grow and we gained resources in those states.
Trails West:
There were many trails that led people to the west, such as the Santa Fe Trail, Oregon Trail, Mormon Trail, California Trail, and Old Spanish Trail. These trails were used for more than moving to the west. They were a place were people could trade with one another, reach the gold fields, and flee persecution. The jounrey on the trails were long and hard but it was helpful in increasing population in the west.
